Cargo release rules

The rules of cargo release depend on bill of lading type:
1. Nominal. Consignee indicates actual company.
    Cargo release is possible if one of the following conditions is done:
  • 3/3 original bills of lading with consignee wet stamp;
  • telex-release for the same consignee-company.
2. To order. Consignee according to bill of lading "To the order of "name of the company".
    Cargo release is possible if one of the following conditions is done:
  • 3/3 original bills of lading with consignee wet stamp. This company should present order letter from consignee and involved companies, if any. Copies of order letters should be offered also. If there are no wet stamp, original order letters should be given;
  • Telex-release is made on consignee-company.
3. Order bill of lading. (to bearer).To "the order"
    Cargo release is possible if one of the following conditions is done:
  • 3/3 original bills of lading with consignee wet stamp. This company should present order letter from consignee and involved companies, if any. Copies of order letters should be offered also. If there are no wet stamp, original order letters should be given;
  • bill of lading is reissued for nominal bill of lading.
Changes to bills of lading can be made in the country of origin only.
And only shipper can allow agent in the country of origin to make some corrections to bill of lading, including consignee substitution.
If consignee is substituted, bill of lading should be reissued. If there are no any changes, bill of lading is added with correction letter without making changes in b/l itself. Exceptions are possible.

Among b/l consignee should present letter of attorney for delivery and cargo receipt in favor of freight forwarding company, which will prepare all port documentation and inland delivery.
